FrostThrow
What's the Game?
FrostThrow drops you straight into a wild snowball fight. Picture a top down arena in snow, snowballs zipping past your head while you dart around, trying not to get nailed. You are racing from pile to pile, grabbing handfuls of snow, stocking up, and launching your own attacks at smart, relentless AI rivals. The key is to stay sharp dodge like your life depends on it and survive as the waves get tougher. Each new round cranks up the heat. Can you stick it out and push your high score even further?
How it Plays
- Snow Collection: Just walk over a snow pile and you grab some. The more you collect, the bigger your snowball.
- Throwing: Hit the SHOOT button and fling away. Bigger snowballs pack a stronger punch.
- Health: You start tough with 150 health. Enemy snowballs chip at it, but you heal a bit after each wave.
- Waves: Every wave starts with at least three enemies, and the count climbs as you go. Knock them all out.
- Scoring: Every point of damage you deal is a point for your score. Finish on enemy and you snatch a 100 points bonus.
Smarter Enemies
The AI isn't just stumbling around. Enemies switch up their tactics:
- Collect: They grab snow too, just like you do.
- Approach: They'll move your way but keep a little distance—usually 50 to 80 pixels back.
- Retreat: After firing, they'll pull away to reload and regroup.
- Shooting: If they see a clear shot, they'll take it. Their aim starts at 60% and gets better every wave, topping out at 90%.
Simple Controls
On PC / Keyboard
- Move: WASD or Arrow Keys
- Aim: Point with your mouse
- Shoot: Click anywhere on the game screen
On Mobile / Touch
- Move: Drag the left joystick
- Shoot: Tap the SHOOT button
- Aim: Auto-aim snaps to the closest enemy you can see. If nobody's around, your snowball goes wherever you tap.
What's in the Arena?
Map Features
- Walls: You can't walk through these, and you can hide behind them too. They break up the arena and give you cover.
- Snow Piles: Over 35 piles, each holding 100 snow units, and they slowly refill over time.
- Size: The whole arena is 400×300 pixels. The camera always sticks with you.
The Look
Everything's done in chunky pixel art, blown up 3× or 4× depending on your screen. Colors? Think classic winter: lots of blues, whites, and grays. The characters are round with big eyes so you can see where they're looking. You'll see icons showing how many snowballs everyone's got. The minimap shows walls, snow piles, you, and enemies. Take a hit and the screen flashes or shakes. Enemy health bars float right above them, so you always know who's close to being knocked out.
UI
- Player Stats: Your health and snowball size show up on the HUD.
- Score Panel: Always see your current wave, your score, and how many enemies are left.
- Mode Indicator: Tells you if you're in "COLLECT" mode (grabbing snow) or "SHOOT!" mode (ready to throw).
- Wave Indicator: Big bold text pops up when a new wave starts.
How the Game Flows
- You load in to the Steel Domination logo, the FrostThrow title, and a nod to the game jam.
- The main menu gives you three choices: PLAY, CONTROLS, or OTHER GAMES.
- The action starts at Wave 1, with three or four enemies on the field.
- Start collecting snow, build your arsenal, and outsmart the enemies.
- Clear every enemy to move to the next wave—plus, you get a little health back each time.
- Lose all your health? That's game over.
- Your final score and wave number pop up on the Game Over screen. Give it another go and see if you can beat your record.

This is great, (even though I was terrible at it) I had a lot of fun. Good work.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We are really glad to hear that you had fun playing that is what matters most.
